Music industry triggered by the play-along video game
by Lenka Filipova

Well, as the technology is constantly moving forward the same is reflected on the video games. All of those who tried very hard ,and even those who tried only hardly, to play any musical instrument but somehow could not managed to reach the agreement as it played always something different from what they wanted to make it to sound like, here a new possibility comes. Yeah, it is all about the genre you choose to play. The game publisher Activision and game producer Neversoft launched recently a play-along rhythm game “Guitar Hero:Aerosmith”. The thing is that you choose your genre and train what you like to play and what you like to hear. According to the bassist Tom Hamilton from Aerosmith it was all about being into music. Particularly, the music you consider energetic, stimulating and juicy. The whole idea is based upon pushing the buttons according to the rhythm so that you create the correlated sound or at least some reaction. Consequently, you will practise the musical sense as well as ability to improvise and react to whatever rhythms - a very essential skill used at jam sessions. In addition to this, players will be enabled to download various songs. The price will vary depending on the game, but it will be in the range down from 99 cents up to $2.50 per song. This is aimed to stimulate the music industry as the games will not be allowed to burn onto CDs or uploaded to MP3. Thus, the players will definitely ask for the original copies. All in all, it seems music is getting more and more available. However, the one who needs to recover is music industry.
